Juan & Cecilia

June 1, 2027

our Story

Some love stories begin with a first date. Ours began when we were just kids.

Cecilia was 9 years old and Juan was 10 when they first met. The first thing Cecilia remembers asking about Juan was whether he knew how to dance. His older brother, Marcos, quickly answered, “No!” Neither of them knew it at the time, but that simple introduction would become the beginning of a beautiful story.

The reason our paths continued to cross throughout the years was because Cecilia’s cousin, Marjorie, and Juan’s older brother, Marcos, had fallen in love and eventually married. As they built their life together, they unknowingly gave us countless opportunities to grow up around each other. Whether it was family gatherings, trips to Disneyland, days at Universal Studios, or watching fireworks together, we spent many of our childhood and teenage years creating memories side by side.

From the very beginning, Cecilia had a crush on Juan. Even as kids, there was something about him that stayed with her over the years, even when life got busy and we didn’t always see each other often.

In 2013, at Marjorie and Marcos’s wedding, Cecilia caught the bouquet and Juan caught the garter. It was a lighthearted moment at the time something we still remember, but never thought would mean anything more. Looking back now, it feels like a small glimpse of what was to come.

In 2016, we began seeing each other here and there again, and our friendship slowly grew deeper over time. What started as familiarity gradually turned into something more meaningful, even before either of us fully realized it.

Over the years, Marjorie and Marcos not only became an important part of our story, but will now stand beside us on our wedding day as our Maid of Honor and Best Man. A full circle moment that means more than words can express.

On Valentine’s Day in 2019, Juan asked Cecilia to be his Valentine. Then, on June 1, 2019, Juan made things official in the most unforgettable way he named a star after Cecilia and asked her to be his girlfriend. Under the stars, our story truly began.

Five years later, on June 1, 2024, Juan created another unforgettable memory when he got down on one knee and asked Cecilia to marry him. Of course, she said yes.

Now, on June 1, 2027, exactly eight years after officially becoming boyfriend and girlfriend, we will say “I do.”

Looking back, it’s impossible not to see how every chapter of our story led us here. From childhood memories and a lifelong crush, to a friendship that deepened over time, to a bouquet and garter caught at the wedding of the very people who first brought us together, our story has always felt like it was written by fate.

We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter with all of the people we love most. Thank you for being part of our journey and for sharing in the beginning of our forever.
